Welcome to the new Granville Girl Scout website! We hope you like the new face, but rest assured, the primary focus of this site is still to inform girls and leaders of the activities of their fellow scouts. Granville leaders: If you were unable to send your troop's information but would still like your page personalized or would like your page changed, please feel free to email the webmistress at ggsjet@hotmail.com.

Links

Here is a list of links to websites that may be of interest to girls, their families, and their leaders. All of these sites have been checked for safety, but as with anything relating to the Internet, surfers should exercise caution, and girls should never surf without the presence and permission of an adult.

  • My Online Safety Pledge- Provided by Just For Girls, this site should be the first stop for Girl Scouts. The pledge outlines safe and appropriate guidelines for surfing and should be signed and discussed before the girls begin to explore the Internet, even with adult supervision.
  • Just For Girls- Just For Girls is a branch of the Girl Scouts of the USA website that focuses on intrests and activities for young girls as opposed to the main GSUSA site which focuses mainly on the history of the organization and leaders resources.
  • Girl Scouts of the USA- The central location for all things Girl Scout related. The site features an online museum and Girl Scout store as well as hundreds of other activities and resources for girls and leaders
  • Girl Scouts of the Adirondack Council- Our own council. Site construction appears to be wrapping up, so be sure to visit and check out the changes!
  • Point, Click, Go! Try-It for Brownie Girl Scouts- An online version of the familiar Try-It, provided by Just For Girls. Scouts should be well acquainted with this Try-It before attempting the next, Computer Smarts.
  • Computer Smarts Try-It for Brownie Girl Scouts- Another online version of a Try-It, provided by Just For Girls. Scouts should earn Point, Click, and Go! before attempting this Try-It. Girls should also earn Computer Smarts before going online.
  • Yahooligans.com- A kid-friendly version of Yahoo, this site was featured in the Try-It Computer Smarts. The site includes a Safe Surfing Quiz, Parent's Guide, Teachers' Guide, and several categories geared for younger surfers.
  • Granville Central School Website- This site is the main site of the Granville Central School District. From here, you can access the individual school sites, as well as links to information on the current renovation project, the 2001 Board of Ed. Meetings, and contact information for the various schools.
